Fam-
Alrighty!  Well I am excited to write all of you . . . I got some super fun pictures and updates so thanks : )  . . . I love when I can sit here infront of a computer 5,000 miles away and laugh because I know JUST what was going on or because I just wish I could've been somewhere!  I thought I'd give the run-down (if dad hasn't yet) of what my new area has brought with it.  My new comp is Elder King from Springville Utah, and Elder Roza from São Paulo.  Love them both to death.  We have a great time working together and I believe each of us makes the other one want to be better, that is always a good thing.  Elder Roza is the finicial secretary and is in one of the pictures I sent, he is the classic lady's man comic. . . oh he kills me.  He also speaks english really well.  He always says 'dog gone-it' and 'dang-it' ... love him.  Elder King played football and is a die-hard BYU fan.  We will definitely be watching them together after the mission.  He was the Exec. Secretary for 6 months and will be teaching me everything he knows over the next 5 weeks.  To answer your question Dad, it won't really take 5 weeks but there are things that have to be done such as; buying pass tickets, plane rides home, making packets for missionaries who are going home and who are arriving, marking dentist/doctor/any appointments for the missionaries, order materials for the missionaries, rent hotel rooms and such for president when he travels, update all of the mission areas and companionships after transfers, track all of the baptisms and baptismal records for the whole mission, schedule interviews with President Souza (Francisco de Assis Souza), sort all of the mission letters and packages, write the weekly mission e-mail, prepare materials for the Zone Leaders, Get all of the numbers from all of the zones (9 zones with 180 + missionaries) each week. . . and anything else that comes up for us to do . . . All of that and more, while taking care of our area and trying to teach new people and baptize.  Many elders have the wrong idea about the secretaries because in the past there have been those who never even left that office and just stopped their actual proselyting work.  Well slowly that has changed and as the mission gets more digital, I plan on being able to spend very little time in the office and try to keep a normal proselyting schedule.  The hard thing is doing all of the work with a highly possibility of your plans being lost due to something unexpected that comes up.  IN THE END.  It is a big change . . coming from Barbalha, the humblest area on the mission, to Aldeota, the Noblest area in the mission.  I was used to teaching on dirt floors, not eating lunch in high-rise apartments next to the beach.  Life is an adventure right?  Change is good. (baby steps around the office... hahaha)

MOM.. did you get my DVD with all my pictures on it?. . . and Rudy is getting normal again??... that was AWESOME news!

All-
This Saturday we met a young lady (23) named ALINE (Ah lee knee) who made our week.  Due to the transfer we hadn't had very much time to teach and we were dying!  We were out in our area (offices and apartment buildings) trying to decide what our best option was and we heard someone singing.  We looked over and there was a little girl behind their gate just staring at us and singing.  We turned around to go see if her family was home...subsequently, she ran away haha.  5 seconds later she appeared with her aunt (aline) who, to sum things up, told us she had been waiting for someone to help her find direction in her life and went to church with us yesterday.  She loved is and is going to a family night with us tonight.  I don't feel worthy of all the blessings the Lord gives us!
Quickly . . we had to get people fro mthe airport this week, a few times in fact.  We talked with some americans which was fun, but we also met a lady from ISRAEL. . what?!  She didn't speak portugues just english. . . what a courageous person . . just a backpack and the desire to see the world!  We helped her get on her way and also got he to speak some hebrew for us... SO cool.
Last thing... from my study this week.  I have fallen in love with all of the scriptures that just say things how they are, ya know? "this is how it is, and if you don't do it... good luck."  Well, Heleman 14:30-31 is beautiful.  It is so simple.  The path is set, it is our choice, those who follow will win, those wish not to listen, will be rewarded accordingly... link that with Alma 42:27...another of my favorites!
The weird english word of the week (when said outloud) is GAMBLE.
Love you all - Elder Johnson
